The "Caterpillar" Curriculum

The "Caterpillar" offers two science-based, Oregon benchmark-aligned programs each year. Each program has four hands-on activity stations and, depending on the age group, an activity journal to help students focus. In addition to this wealth of hands-on activities, each program includes an experiment reinforcing the steps of scientific inquiry.

Programs (noting activity stations) that have been presented include:

Cycles
Water cycle
Decomposers: worms (including an
        experiment)
Animal cycles: butterflies, frogs, etc
Plant cycles, seasons, photosynthesis
It's a Small World (geography & ecology)
Cardinal directions and reading map
Migration and Endangered Species
        using maps
Flight and feathers
Plant origins with longitude and latitude
Riddles in Biodiversity (including
                classification, habitats, adaptation)
